After sharing a studio with my friend, Kellie, I knew I needed and wanted a bigger space. Kellie told me about these warehouses in Valdosta, well more specifically, Remerton. We called the realtor and he me us at the locations. I looked at wo different warehouses that were just not the right fit for me, but when we waked into the third warehouse, I knew I was home!
Now, the location needed some work to get it the way I saw it in my head. Honestly, it's still not quite where I want it, but away we went on the construction!
Who in the world would have ever been ok with this color for the floors?
We rented a Uhaul truck in Valdosta to move my equipment from one studio to the next photography studio. We unloaded before the work started, so I had to put everything in the front room so it wouldn't get in the way of the work.
First thing's first, that floor had to change. We decided to paint over the horrid orange color. I decided on a nice grey color.
Next, we started to paint the walls and started construction on a changing room. It's looking good!
Cade and I hung these window sized images on the front of the photography studio. It wasn't as easy as you might think, but we got it done. Now anyone driving by in Valdosta, GA will know that this is a photography studio!
We also started hanging some of the images from the Hometown Heroes: A Valdosta, GA Story project that I photographed last year at the beginning of the pandemic. My plan is to add more of these. I am very proud of all the citizens of Valdosta that make up our front line and anything that I can do to show them the support that they deserve is worth it to me.
